FYBSL CODE OF CONDUCT
The mission of Fitchburg Youth Baseball and Softball League (FYBSL) is to provide all children in Fitchburg and surrounding communities the opportunity to play Baseball & Softball in a safe, fun, and educational environment. To achieve this mission, we must ensure that the conduct of every member in our FYBSL Community reflects our core principles of respect, responsibility, fairness, and good citizenship. Please review the following Code of Conduct and make it your top priority during your involvement with FYBSL.
As a member of the FYBSL Community, I hereby pledge to:
*Uphold the FYBSL mission of providing all children the opportunity to play baseball/softball in a safe, fun, and educational environment.
*Remember that our children play baseball/softball to have fun, and that youth baseball/softball is a game dedicated to our children... not adults.
*Teach our children that striving to be their best is always more important than winning.
*Encourage good sportsmanship by supporting the Officials, Coaches, Players, and Spectators devoted to the game being played on the field.
*Acknowledge that Umpires fulfill one of the most difficult and essential roles in support of FYBSL, and to respect Umpires and their authority during games.
*Acknowledge that Coaches perform some of the most important and challenging duties in support of our children, and to respect Coaches by not confronting them during practices and games, not contradicting their ināgame decisions, and not coaching from the sidelines.
*Never ridicule or yell at any participant for making a mistake or losing a competition.
*Never use profane language or obscene gestures.
*Never smoke, use smokeless tobacco, or possess alcoholic beverages or any illegal substance at FYBSL events.
*Appreciate that FYBSL will not tolerate any form of bullying, assault or intimidation of Players, Coaches, Officials, and other Spectators, whether verbal or physical.
I acknowledge that upholding this Code of Conduct is vital to the health of FYBSL. I understand that violation of this Code will result in disciplinary action by FYBSL that may include but is not limited to: verbal and/or written warning, ejection from FYBSL events, and indefinite suspension from FYBSL activities, as determined by the FYBSL Board of Directors.
